Finn Geis-Grundmann
Words for a living.
What I do
My background spans molecular ecology, law, and communication. I founded 44moles GmbH — forest carbon measurement software, a team of thirty across three continents — and have worked with leading international institutions in the sustainability space.
Where I've worked
Profile
I am a molecular ecologist completing a Master of Laws in IT and Intellectual Property Law at the University of Göttingen. That combination — natural science, technology law, and regulatory policy — is the foundation for the kind of narrative work that M&A and tech-policy contexts demand: precise, innovative, and legible across disciplines.
Before law, I spent several years at the intersection of climate science and private markets — founding 44moles GmbH, a forest carbon measurement company with a team of thirty across three continents, built and exited within three years.
From 2024 to 2026, I held an appointment as Expert to the UN Supervisory Body's Roster of Experts, the body developing and managing the global emissions trading market under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement.
That combination — hard science, legal training in IT and IP, and experience inside the institutions that regulate global markets — is what I bring to communication. Legal teams navigating technical subject matter. Scientific organisations that need to speak to regulators. Institutions where the distance between what is meant and what is understood has real consequences.
